It is hard to sum up my time as an intern at Treefrog in just one blog post. It was a time full of growth, learning, and coffee. Ironically enough, the only person I was ever getting coffee for was myself. I can’t even begin to count the number of benefits of working at Treefrog, so I tried to summarize the four that stood out most to me.
The people at Treefrog are some of the nicest, most fun people I have ever met. They truly care about making sure that the interns have the best experience possible. They go out of their way to make the interns feel included, and are always down to go get lunch or coffee.
The environment at Treefrog is the most laid-back environment I have ever worked in. They do not expect you to wear a suit to work everyday, and they are so understanding and flexible. They get that life happens sometimes, and want to do everything they can to help you be successful. The office is full of bright colors, music is always playing, and the kitchen is constantly stocked with yummy snacks; it’s the perfect environment to get your creative juices flowing.
Waffle Wednesday is the best day of the week. Every Wednesday, a group of us would go to Star City Coffee to buy waffles. Now, these weren’t just any waffles; these were the big, fluffy Belgian waffles, covered in syrup, butter, and any other toppings you could imagine.
I had no idea what to expect going into this internship, but I certainly did not expect to learn as much as I did. I learned more than I ever could have imagined about content marketing, blogging, and social media. I also learned many life-lessons, such as how important it is to love what you do, how to plunge the toilet in a very old building, how to balance work and school, and how to solve the time-old problem of writer’s block.
I talk about my time at Treefrog at every interview I go on. This internship has helped me to develop and mature professionally, and has given me invaluable experience. I could not have asked for a better first internship and I will always be thankful to Treefrog for everything that they have given me.
